Large amount of cash returned to owner after cash machine theft

C relief NBOs were on foot patrol around St Ann's Square yesterday when they heard a female screaming in distress. Officers quickly located the female and it transpired that, whilst she was withdrawing a large amount of money from a cash machine, a male offender had stolen the money from her and was running away. The officers gave chase and swiftly managed to detain the offender and arrest him, recovering all of the female's money from him in the process. 

The offender was charged with the offence of theft and remanded in police custody.
